APEC Center for Technology Transfer (APCTT), in partnership with APEC Climate Center (APCC), successfully co-organized the 2026 APEC PPSTI Symposium on 18 August 2026 at the Dalian International Conference Center, China.

Held in a hybrid format, the symposium was convened under the theme of "Technology Innovation for Extreme Weather Risk Management in the APEC Region". The event brought together policymakers, practitioners, and scientists from across the Asia-Pacific region to share knowledge and practical solutions for managing extreme weather risks through advanced forecasting technologies and digital tools.

The symposium was organized in conjunction with the general assembly of the Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI) under the Third Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM3), providing a timely platform for high-level dialogue on science-based climate adaptation strategies.

The program featured keynote presentations, panel discussions, and a site visit, offering participants rich opportunities for exchange. The symposium also strengthened the partnership between APCTT and APCC, with both centers committed to deepening their collaboration on future initiatives that support resilient growth across APEC member economies.
